A word

Meanwhile just a final word, a closure

Against the grains, the pebbles

Amongst which life still meddles

Breaks into sweat, kills my composure

I am wrapped in deeds and wants

Entwined with hope, and losses

You have escaped, and blossomed

And it devours me, and me it haunts

I am selfless in my narcissistic void

Why me? Why now? Who to blame?

An avalanche, a wave of endless shame

Against my sorrow, stark and stolid

Meanwhile just a simple word, an end

I gained some solace, lost a friend

You've earned respect and trust

And now there it stands

An ocean of despair as it cuts

And as it grows, as it never ends.
