The soaring heights, so overbearing
And mighty struggle, hero’s fight
It is so boring, stale in its retelling
The blossoming of love, the light
Just poison for the masses, swelling
Against the ocean of the mean
Besides the aggregate of mind
A spark of meaning breathes thin
A touch of feeling, last and blind
The worthless, useless speck of dust
Within the storm of mediocre whole
You stand, not proud, and not just
Just humble, fearless, bold, and tall
And restless, worried, judging fast
So hypnotized by hungry maw of life’s black hole.
The meaning of this life still slipping from your grasp
Not caring and committed
Not worried and so loved
I envy you my steep ideal
I won’t be there, not ever
Into reality most shoved…
