Once I was a boy that believed in magic
The suave wave of the gentle hands
The flourishing and awe striking, defying logic
Defying understanding, battling the norms and standards
Once I was a boy that cherished heroes
A certainty and justice of the cause
The selflessness so fearless
Relying on the grit and faith, and blade so coarse
And then I was a man, believing nothing
A coward, walking still amongst the ashes
Believer that has lost it’s faith, so loathing
I sleep amongst the lost things, burned eye lashes
Of hope and useless positive resolve
The fire that kills love won’t stop
The violence that slinks like mold
A good guy that I aimed for I am not.
